Get Energized This Spring

This time of year brings on spring cleaning for your household and yard.  But why stop there? Start fresh with us, with clean eating at Healthy Meal Plans.  The 21st century is so fast paced it can be difficult to keep up.  With your hectic schedule, it is important to remember to take care of your body.  Eating foods with healthy nutrients can help to boost your energy levels and increase your mood, which in turn (and most importantly) will make you more productive throughout your day.  Our team at Healthy Meal Plan is committed to these habits for staying healthy.

Check out our top three rules for increasing your energy levels while enjoying our healthy meal plans:

1 Don’t Skip Breakfast

Each night, when you go to sleep, your body goes into recharge mode. Breakfast is the prime time to refuel your body, reenergize your mind and ultimately increase awareness, focus and cognitive-function throughout your day.  From getting ready, to packing the kids lunch and getting everyone out the door on time, breakfast is regularly skipped by many people because they do not have time time before work to whip something up.  All of our meal plans include a tasty healthy breakfast that will not disappoint.  The best part? We save you time because we do all of the prep for you!

2 Stay Hydrated

Dehydration is a common cause of low energy levels.  This happens when the amount of fluid you are consuming is less than the amount you are losing.  We often take in a lot of caffeine to get through our work days, but it is extremely important to consume a lot of water throughout your day to stay hydrated and flush out toxins.

Tip: If you feel water is too plain to drink on its own, you can infuse it with fruits filled with antioxidants.  Try adding some lemons, raspberries, blueberries and oranges.  This is also a great alternative to sugary pop beverages.

3 Exercise

Having a workout routine in conjunction with healthy eating is one of the best things you can do for your overall wellness. However, if you struggle with sticking to a routine, or you do not have enough time to get a full workout in, just make it a point to have some sort of physical activity throughout your day.  If you sit at a desk all day long this can be difficult, but there are small things you can do to increase your physical activity:

  • Take the stairs instead of an elevator
  • Go outside for a walk on your lunch break
  • If you take public-transit get off 1-3 stops sooner than your destination and walk the rest of the way

We believe in practicing these tips every day, and we would love to be a part of your daily routine. Visit us to sign up for the plan that best suits your specific lifestyle and needs!
