2 Stay Hydrated
Dehydration is a common cause of low energy levels. This happens when the amount of fluid you are consuming is less than the amount you are losing. We often take in a lot of caffeine to get through our work days, but it is extremely important to consume a lot of water throughout your day to stay hydrated and flush out toxins.
Tip: If you feel water is too plain to drink on its own, you can infuse it with fruits filled with antioxidants. Try adding some lemons, raspberries, blueberries and oranges. This is also a great alternative to sugary pop beverages.
Having a workout routine in conjunction with healthy eating is one of the best things you can do for your overall wellness. However, if you struggle with sticking to a routine, or you do not have enough time to get a full workout in, just make it a point to have some sort of physical activity throughout your day. If you sit at a desk all day long this can be difficult, but there are small things you can do to increase your physical activity:
- Take the stairs instead of an elevator
- Go outside for a walk on your lunch break
- If you take public-transit get off 1-3 stops sooner than your destination and walk the rest of the way
